Tags on Baby Clothes

I've noticed, much to my dismay, that most of the baby clothes come with tags, some so large and sometime too many in a single piece of clothing. The material is seldom soft and causes considerable irritation on the soft skin. Very often Pattu has ended up having rashes at the nape and near the waist depending on where these tags are. I've tried to chop them off but they still protrude as sharp edges. Pattu refuses to wear some of the pretty clothes only because she can't stand the irritation caused by the tags.

I am surprised that none of these major brands have realised how kid unfriendly the tags are. I'm sure there are other ways of keeping these tags if they are not totally avoidable. These things make me wonder how much research actually goes behind all these big brand baby products that we trust so much. I wonder how this piece of consumer feedback hasn't yet reached the brands....

Agree with you 100% and cutting them off makes it worse

You are right! Fortunately, my girl is not allergic and till now I have not faced much probs. But yeah !
Probably they could try printing on the inside instead of attaching a tag !

I've thought the same thing so many times. Lavanya's idea of printing inside sounds so doable and good.

This issue is very close to my heart as V too has sensitive skin and we are very particular about where we buy his clothes, these days. Thanks for this post. A portion of what I have written in the following link, may be a probable reply!

So true. Thankfully, it never bother my kids. In fact, cutting them off seems to make it worse and more scratchy

Hema - Yes, pattu also suffers rashes sometimes. Read your post - agree completely

Lavanya, Jayashree - true, printing is definitely a better option... hope someone is listening!

Mama-Mia: Yeah, the ones that print are a handful and are not often widely distributed.
